'Daengi' hair, a traditional Korean hairstyle worn by Jeong Ho Yeon during the SAG awards is garnering mass attention. While interest in the awards ceremony outfits and hairstyles of 'Squid Game' star Jeong Ho-Yeon, who won the Best Actress award at the 28th Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG)', continues, stylist Jenny Jo posted its origin.
According to foreign media reports, this daenggi headdress was the idea of Jeong Ho-Yeon. Jenny Jo is a stylist who has worked with famous Hollywood stars such as Sandra Oh, and she drew more attention by writing “Daenggi” in Korean in her Instagram description.
Jenny Jo posted #hoyeon #squidgame #daenggi as hashtags with the caption, "This is Daeng Gi hair tie worn with the traditional Hanbok (Han Bok) on Hoyeon for today's SAG Awards. It was a sincere honor."
American Vogue also said, "The dress is dazzling, but what's even more fantastically beautiful is the hair detail that adorns Jeong Ho-Yeon's shiny hair," and said, "It is a style inspired by the centuries-old Korean daenggi hair ribbon", and that "It's the perfect combination of classic Hollywood glamor while expressing a meaningful sense of awe."
Meanwhile, Louis Vuitton womenswear creative director Nicolas Ghesquière has become a hot topic as it is known that she created a custom-made dress for Jeong Ho-Yeon.
The Louis Vuitton side is said to have specially produced this SAG award ceremony dress after spending 210 hours at the workshop in the Louis Vuitton Paris Vendôme Maison. Jeong Ho-Yeon's custom dress is a handmade costume using gorgeous silver beads and crystals on black jacquard silk, and she is praised for boasting overwhelming splendor in her details, especially in the pockets with silver metal thread embroidery.
